managing ads can be difficult

No surprises here. If you’ve spent any amount of time as a marketer, you’ve come across or dabbled in some ad platform at one point in your career.

Considering the shear differences in reach, use, and nuances across Google Ads, Microsoft (Bing) Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Hulu Ads, it’s no wonder why more and more marketing agencies are outsourcing their ad management needs.

We haven’t met an agency yet that didn’t want to provide their client everything that they need (for a number of reasons), but we understand having someone in house that no only understands the platforms but can also optimize the entire experience is expensive (and they’re just hard to find).

Enter Ghost – the truly transparent white label ad management service that genuinely understands the needs of marketing agencies and consultants (because that’s what we did for a long time).

“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.”

Meet the head honcho

a life of ad management

My name is David Adorno – the Guardian Ghoul of Ghost. I’ve been in the marketing industry for over 22 years, with my very first job being an account manager for a search engine. It was the wild west back then. Getting ahead was a matter of how much money you could drop on a campaign. Not anymore…

Since then, a lot has changed in the search world. We’ve seen search engines rise and fall, change the rules, elevate and destroy ranking, and catalyze the evolution of the online buyer. You can’t just buy clicks. Search engines want to deliver a better search experience, which levels the playing field, but requires advertisers to stay on their game.

There’s a lot to consider, but, here’s what we’ve learned to work and truly believe in:

Assuming we're using best practices across the board (your offer is solid, your landing page has direction and purpose), we want to hurry up and find wins. This means doing what is right, learning from mistakes, and continuously improve. The faster we can get out of the sandbox, the faster we can get the results we want.

You can't grow what you don't measure. The more actions and events we can monitor and track, the better we can understand audience and user behavior. The data tells us where to go, what to fix, what to pull back on, and what to add fuel to.

There's no time to waste. Think pit stop speed in a Formula One race. Make the necessary adjustments and send it back out to work. Wash, rinse, repeat. We live in the adjustment.

Challenges will change from week to week. It may take some time to get to running optimally because we discover something has to change. It's further complicated by platforms learning from those changes, evaluating the data thereof, and readjusting. When it comes to ad management, patience is a virtue. Respect the AI, respect the algorithm, respect the deep learning.
